Making soap

Charlie's last "Doodle crate" that came in by mail was a soap making kit.  How fun!

The kit provided some clear soap and some white-colored soap and you would just melt how ever  many cubes in the microwave and pour it into this square mold.  The little creatures were created with another mold and adding drops of coloring that were also provided:

Charlie's first soap!
I think this soap is too cute to be used.  It even came with its own little wooden holder:
And then, Charlie made another soap that's marbled.  Looks so cool:
Graham also made his own little soap.  There are actually 3 little fishies, all stacked on top of each other in this soap:
Graham's "Tinker box" was a robot which he probably took only 5 minutes to put together.  He was happy with it but I think he has already taken it apart to see how it all works.  Ha!
The boys are constantly asking when the next box is going to arrive!  I'm glad they are enjoying it although I wish they played it with more and not just on the day it arrives.  Nevertheless, it's time away from the computer and TV!  And now unfortunately, we have had the entire house closed up because it has been smoky from all the fires around us.  There has been a strange hue too outside.

Here's the sun trying to peek through in the middle of the day:
As if Covid wasn't enough, now we are really stuck inside because of the bad air quality :-(
