Happy Birthday, Bobby!

So I guess you are getting old when the DMV tells you that your hair color is no longer brown, but grey. Ha ha!  Sorry honey, I just had to throw that in there :-P

What better way to start his day with some golf?!
Followed by a nap!
Once Graham and Charlie got home from school, it was time for the birthday cake.  I'm glad I bought a few extra bundt cakes from last week when Graham had his birthday. Planning ahead always! :-)
Now, time for the gifts.  First one, some air freshener for those stinky bathroom trips.  Ha!
Daddy requested for a new razor, so hope this one works well!
Bobby has been drinking a lot of cappuccinos lately after dinner.  We couldn't afford the machine, so let's just start with a little baby espresso cup first ;-)
The boys bought daddy a new bracelet.  This one actually comes with a tracker, that tracks a shark!
Unfortunately, the bracelet broke while Bobby was taking a swing here!  We surprised Daddy with a trip to TopGolf!!
This is quite the place!  It's 3 storeys tall and there's probably about 40 hitting bays on each floor:
And you can order drinks:
And food:
And play different sorts of games that can be viewed concurrently on the TV screens:
Someone is obviously having some fun!
Oops, looks like Mommy lost this one.  I think the boys' rigged the scoring system!!
I think Charlie nailed a shot right in the middle - at the flag!!
Don't forget a free birthday dessert too :-D
Although, Graham and Charlie are the ones that are quickly tucking into that brownie skillet.  Yummm!
We discovered that if you hit the Driver, there's actually a drain aaaaallll the way at the end of the fence that counts for extra points!!
It was a fun evening!! Glad it wasn't too hot and there was a nice little breeze too:
We will have to come back at night when the lights are all lit!  But I'm not sure how the crowd is going to be at those hours.   It was already quite busy when we were leaving at 7:30pm. Yikes!

Speaking of yikes, look at the color difference between Bobby's arm and my arm.  I guess you can tell who's been playing more golf. LOL!!
That and someone (i.e. birthday boy) has not been very good about sun protection, be it sunscreen or long sleeve shirts.  So, I'll just have to keep nagging!! :-P

Hope you had a great birthday, honey! Me and the boys love you very much XOX

Busy holiday weekend

I love 3-day weekends.  It's Memorial Day weekend and so that also means, we are getting very close to Bobby's birthday!  But in the meantime, we are getting a few other things taken care of.

Graham and Charlie finally have their annual eye exams.  They had their eyes dilated so it's so funny seeing them in their "fun" sunglasses:
Charlie's has a slight far-sightedness and Graham's far-sighted prescription didn't change much, so I guess that's good news?!  His new frames/glasses will be done in a couple of weeks.  It's amazing how expensive specialty lenses are compared to what basic (plastic) ones cost.  Sheesh! Anyhow, did I mention how lucky these boys are!

And speaking of lucky, the swimming pool at the club has opened up!
It's a record almost 5-hr day at the club by the pool.  Bobby and I would play tag where he would go practice golf first and then, he would come by to the pool and I would go next to practice golf. Ha!  The boys definitely got some sun and the new swim coach was shocked to still see us at the end of her day.  She said that Graham and Charlie won't have any issues with swim practice.  Yes, we decided to sign them up for a summer swim club. It will be their first time being part of a swim team and competing between clubs, so we'll see how they do!

Daddy has been doing great cooking up some more meals. Yay!!
This one is chicken will an apple reduction sauce, with mashed potatoes, and green beans.  Good job, daddy!!

And we took Daddy out for dinner tonight (although he still paid - ha ha!) to one of our favorite restaurants:
Food is still as good as I remember it!
Bobby managed to score a free dessert and a candle to blow out for his (early) birthday:
And oh, he also bought a new bike yesterday!
Hoping to get all of us on a bike trail - after my golf qualifier that is. Knowing me, I'd fall and scrap or break something so better to be safe than sorry :-P

Managed to hang some lights tonight in the back patio. I hope that stick in the planter holds up in the middle. Just waiting for that first summer storm to let me know. LOL!
Still need to hang more lights by the seating area and along our picnic bench.  And I couldn't remove the Christmas lights that are currently hung up because a bird decided to make a nest right by the downspout!
We just took a quick peek and there are 4 little eggs in there. Awww...! There are so many birds nest by so many downspouts around the house. I think this one is #4?!  And Bobby mentioned this morning and that one bird was making a nest on top of the outdoor heater, where the flame would be.  Sheesh!! Thankfully the nest was still work-in-progress and there were no eggs, so Bobby was able to remove it.

We have something planned for Bobby tomorrow. I wonder if we should blindfold him while we drive him there. Ha! Stay tuned for the post and photos :-)

And oh, Charlie has already managed to lose his phone at school.  We are guessing it is still at school but for whatever reason, there's an app on his phone that is telling us that the phone is in a lake a few miles away from school. LOL!!  I guess we will find out tomorrow morning when we go searching for Charlie's phone at school during drop-off. It's only been a week since he's had it.  Again,... kids, I tell you!!

Graham's birthday party

We don't normally have birthday parties, but this year - since Graham really wanted to go to this place called the Main Event, we decided that he could invite a few friends to go with him.  Main Event is almost like a Dave & Busters, where there's bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and this one even has a rope course above the arcade!

We start the kids with laser tag.  And kids was really just our neighbors from 3 different families!
And while the kids played, Bobby and our neighbor friend enjoyed some bowling together:
I'm glad Natalie was able to give Bobby a run for his money!

The kids basically all bounced around the arcade after laser tag:
It was nice because there was a previous event and the entire place had been booked and only just reopened at 4pm. So when we showed up at 430pm, the place was still nice and quiet.  The kids literally had almost the whole place to themselves!
Okay, time for the rope course:
There's even a zipline!  It's so cute how Graham is being so careful on this:
And obviously being even more careful when walking on skinny "planks":
It's so funny how he grabs on to the pole when he gets to the end:
Graham was definitely having a good time!
The kids :-)
I'm so glad Graham had a great time with his friends. There was also food followed by some little bundt cakes.  He didn't want a candle or a song, so we just left it at that.  Although, we did sing him Happy Birthday on his actual birthday the day before.  But no candle to blow out though. We do have extra bundt cakes - maybe he can blow one out with Bobby tomorrow.  It's Bobby turn to have his birthday!

I'm still trying to sort out the bill with Main Event.  Kids were supposed to eat free with an adult entrĂ©e and I don't think we got that discount. And of course, I don't have the paper receipt. Anyhow, customer service has been quite nice (so far!).

Let the celebrations continue tomorrow and then, I'll have my birthday in less than 2 weeks after that. Phew! It's no wonder my waistline keeps growing. LOL!!!

Graham's 13th birthday!

Can you believe it?! We officially have a teenager in the house! Graham has been doing the countdown to his birthday probably for the last couple of months now. And his birthday wish list just got longer and longer. Kids, I tell you.  Ha!

Exactly a week ago - in the morning, Graham read out his birthday card from Grandma and Pop-Pop:
$13 dollars for the 13 year old... thank you, Grandma and Pop-Pop!!
Graham actually wanted these lollipops for the longest time:
Happy Graham!
Graham really wanted a debit card.  Ta da!!! You can really tell how happy he really was to get this:
As for his birthday dinner, Graham really wanted a steak dinner.  At first, I was supposed to give him 3 different choices/restaurants. However, since driving past this shopping plaza quite a bit and always wondering about the Golden Corral - we decided to give it a go! :-)
Graham is happy with all-you-can-eat steak and mash potatoes :-D
And somehow, Charlie said that Graham is allowing them to use their phone during dinner.  Hmmm....
And then, we went to the store next door and boys wanted more PokĂ©mon cards.  Graham said they would pay us back with their money.  Uh huh..., Bobby and I aren't so sure:
Pretty sunset on the way home:
And just as we get home, Graham checks out his new microscope - a gift that was on his wishlist.  He LOVES looking at stuff under the microscope!
By the way, thank you also to Grandma and Pop-pop for sending personalized M&M chocolates and aslo a check for Graham.  He already has a new list of things to save up and buy on his new debit card! By the way, just a few days ago, we were heading over to Dunkin Donuts and Graham said he would pay for all of our treats!  Awww... too sweet!
Hopefully this won't be the first and last time.  Ha ha!

Happy birthday, Graham! We love you so much. By the way, this year we decided to let him invite a few friends for a party. Photos to follow!
