Spring Baseball season all done!

The baseball season has now come to an end!  It seemed like so much when baseball first started back in March.  Graham and Charlie have really enjoyed it, despite some tears - from Graham mostly as they play with harder balls and also the kids have been pitching.

Graham actually had a tough time when he was playing Catcher the other day.  Since their team didn't have a good pitcher, the other team's pitcher stepped in and ended up hitting Graham a couple of times. I told Graham to try and catch the ball but obviously still a bit tricky!
Graham does much better hitting:
He also had his share of pitching and have also hitting a few players along the way:
Check out that form!  He did have a few strikeouts as well, so that made him very happy!
I can clearly see that he has come up with a routine.  He had one lesson with a baseball coach whom I met while playing golf and I guess he was actually listening!  He squares up his feet during setup, picks up his one foot and then, he talks to himself a bit, and then finally throws:
And then, if he throws a "ball", he puts his hand to his mouth and goes "Hmmm...". Here's a video :-)
If Graham had a choice, I think he'd rather work the scoreboard machine!
And while Graham plays, Charlie and I hang out.  Daddy would show up later after work and get fed:
Or Charlie would draw a Go Pirates sign and wave it around during the relay (after the game):
Love the brotherly love! (Despite what goes on at home!!!)
And when Charlie has his games, Graham would occasionally be the bat-boy and hangs out with Charlie in the dugout. I think it's so cute how they support each other during games:
Here is Charlie at bat.  His coach started throwing the ball to them midway through the season and Charlie does great!  Probably because we never started him off the tee and pitched the ball to him from the very beginning:
Apologies if the video is a bit dark.  But in any case, here we are - at the end of the season! Loaded up with lots of sugar from the snack shack:
Charlie is MVP!  Well, at least he thinks so as he somehow managed to snag the gameball to bring home:
I am glad baseball is over as those seats on the bleachers are not very comfortable! And the boys will also get away from all that sugar from candy and ICEE every week. YIKES!!!
But I do feel the the boys did learn a few things from baseball and we will probably try and sign up for Fall Baseball.  So, look out for more baseball then!!!

Happy (early) Father's Day

Bobby also got to spend some time for an early Father's Day at school.  Charlie was so excited to have Daddy at school!
Each kid got to read out loud in front of class why they love their dad.  I think I saw a few teary eyes from some dads.  Awwww...
There was also a "Guess Who's Dad?" from the portraits drawn by the kids:
I guess Charlie has Daddy wearing glasses because Bobby probably does wear his reading glasses more these days.  But the clue is the HAIR!  Charlie started parting his hair just like daddy after his shower every night.  It's such a funny thing!
As for Graham, there was also a gift bag.  It was too funny what Graham wrote on the bag, which was something I spotted on a T-shirt recently:
Graham wrote: HAPPY Farters Day, I mean Father's DAY
LOL!!!

Bobby also got an original artwork on canvas from Graham.  Sweet!
Graham also brought back a stepping stone from school.  It's suppose to say "Dad" on it but Graham said he ran out of space.  Oops! But still an original no less :-)
We'll have to find a good spot for this in the backyard!

And I am sure Bobby felt really good after reading his card from Graham:
"But most of all, you are POWERFUL!"
Yay for Daddy!!!

Charlie's missing teeth

Charlie finally lost his front tooth!  It had been loose for a while and he had been constantly pushing it around with his tongue.  Gives me the goose bumps!
Looks like the Tooth Fairy has been on duty :-D
Graham was convinced that the Tooth Fairy is me while Charlie said "Mommy, you know cursive..." :-)

And then, just this past week, Charlie lost his 2nd front tooth.  Yay!!!
So glad that one came off too because again, he was moving it around with his tongue.  Blaaahhh...!!!  The "Tooth Fairy" was a bit slow getting the money this time around.  "She" only remembered after Charlie woke up but somehow still managed to get the money until the pillow.  Charlie was still completely surprised as the tooth was still under his pillow when he woke up but somehow it had disappeared from his book shelf. Ha ha!

By the way, don't tell Charlie to take out the trash!

Happy Mother's Day (May 12)

It was a very cute Mother's Day where I was able to celebrate some of it with the boys at their school.  There was a small lunch in Graham's class:
He made me a nice card and also a canvas painting.  Very creative!
Graham is getting so big!
And a few days later, it is a hoe-down with Charlie's 1st Grade class:
I got to keep the bandana :-)
Charlie also made me a little framed photo:
It says "I love you because... "
You tack care of me. You ar nis to me. You love me.
(which translates to)
You take care of me. You are nice to me. You love me.

Too sweet!  Charlie also drew my portrait.  I guess this is how I look??!
He also filled out some information about me.  Hmm... It says I like to sleep a lot and my favorite food is salad?  That can't be true!
And I guess this is my Mother's Day gift to myself??!  I saw it on sale at a department store.  Eventually I will hang up my punching bag!
The boys bought me a Circuit board??!
And the Lego Movie - The Second Part DVD.  Hmmmmm.... and this is useful to me because...???
Graham and Charlie also picked out a pair of looped "diamond" earrings.  When Graham asked me if I liked my "diamonds" earrings, I told him that they were actually cubic zirconia , which are fake and made to look like diamonds.  He then proceeded to say: "That really got me fooled!"  Too funny!!

I did get Eggy-in-a-basket, which is Bobby's specialty.  Yum!
Baseball time!  A Mother's Day special at the LA Dodger's game.  Any time we are up on the top tier, we have to take a photo.  The kids get nervous being so high!
And the special is a scarf!  Funny enough, we all got one so I technically now have 4 Dodger scarfs :-)
We never fail to get frozen lemonade.  It is quite warm sitting in the sun (I blame Bobby for this!):
It's a good game as the Dodgers have a good pitcher on the mound today!
Okay,... don't let this smile fool you.  Charlie was getting quite grumpy as Bobby and Graham had disappeared for a while and there was also no break with the sun/heat:
Fun day at the game as the boys also got to run the bases!
At least this time, we did not lose them (like the last time!).  A dad was actually shouting for his kid's name after the run.  Maybe I need to write to the association about this! Sort of like writing to the city about requesting for speed bumps on our street - which got shot down by the way. Booooo!!!

Anyway, a great photo of the boys here on the field:
Oh, I was trying to find my LA Dodger socks to wear for the game and instead, I found my boots that had gone missing for months!!!  Well, I put them away somewhere but didn't remember where.  They were in my closet all this time, directly under my shirts on a shelf so I couldn't see them until I actually squatted down to look for my sock.  Ha ha!
Well, my Dodger socks are still missing.  And I have noticed another pair of my favorite compression purple socks are missing too??!  What is going on in my life!!?  Aaaaahhhhh...!!!!

Nonetheless, a great Mother's Day to remember! Thanks to my mom-in-law for accepting me into the family with open arms.  And of course, remembering my mother as I totally remind myself of her and her forgetfulness. He he...  Missing her lots!

Tidal pool

It was such a nice day after baseball a couple of weekends ago, we decided to take the boys to White Point.  It's just about 5-10 minutes down the street from us, where there used to be hotel/spa here back in the day.  You can still see the concrete foundation along the rocks:
Always lots of cool things to see here.  I was wondering what makes all these holes in the rocks. I found out later as the day went by!
The boys!!!
This green is so vibrant and almost looks like the seaweed that I like to eat.  Hmmmm....
There are a few people fishing by the end here.  It's so pretty:
Just have to make sure no one falls over!
These rock formations and crevasses are amazing:
Lots of mussels??? I don't see anyone picking them to bring them home as a meal though:
Remember those holes on the rocks? I think these sea anemones are the culprits!
Graham is always so far ahead of everyone and planning his steps as he goes along:
 Here is Graham in action!
We spot a few crabs.  This one was trying to fight off the hermit crabs that were going after its food:
Boys are messing around with hermit crabs:
I am glad they are not pulling the little crabs out of their shell when we are not looking!
So lucky to have these natural wonders so near us and best part of all, it's free! :-)
