Botanic Garden visit

These photos were actually taken during our visit at the end of May.  We always double check the time with the sundial when we arrive:
The "Live Wall" never disappoints:
Who knew artichokes had purple flowers (when left unpicked):
Gecko!  Looks like this one had already lost its tail once:
I always find it amazing how cacti has such pretty flowers:
A quick stopover at our favorite bench:
And then, we are back at our usual spot - by Mark di Suvero's "Teha" installation:
Looks different from this angle:

We found this cute little hiding spot, where the tree leaves were surrounding this opening:
Snack time!
Charlie insisted on bringing his play cards, which was actually a great idea and it kept the boys busy:
Another installation on the ground except I didn't check to see what this one was called.  I took the photo mainly because I loved the red flowers :-)
This flower is really pretty too:
Can you imagine running into this tree???!  OUCH!!!
It is always an awe to come into the area of the fig trees.  These roots have quite an amazing network!
Graham is busy with his origami cube:
If only he is so patient with me like this when he is practicing his violin.  Here's the video of Graham putting his origami cube together:

Did I mention how tall these fig trees are:
I asked Charlie to climb on:
He didn't get very far.  Ha ha!
Like I said, always a good day when Charlie falls asleep in the car on the way home!
We haven't been back since the end of last month.  Looks like we are overdue for another visit to the Botanic Garden very soon again!
