Making cystals

About 2 month ago, Graham and Charlie each opened up a crystal making kit.  It was only suppose to take a few weeks for the crystals to grow but somehow, there was still a lot of liquid in the jar.  Supposedly the crystals grow through evaporation of this "magic" solution.  So anyway, we eventually decided to just dump out the liquid and let the crystal dry up some more.  Charlie's crystal finally dried up enough that we could get it out of the jar!
Here's a closer look.  Pretty cool actually!
Graham's crystal is still in the glass jar.  He keeps insisting in getting the crystal out with a spoon!  I don't know how that will work.  I'm guessing we might have to just break the jam jar with a hammer??!  Looks like we didn't think through about what sort of container to use.  Rookie mistake!  Well, will keep you all posted if and when we do get Graham's crystal out!  And hopefully there won't be too many tears if all of Graham's crystals break.  I am sort of predicting the future here :-\
