Happy birthday, Graham (May 22) - Part 2

Happy Happy Birthday, Graham!!!!  10 years old today.  Hooray!!! I was reading my blog when Graham was born - 2 hours of pushing this kid out of my belly.  Sheesh!  This kid better appreciate everything I do for him.  Ha ha!

Well, we start out the day with chocolate croissants.  No, I didn't bake these from scratch but you thaw them out overnight and by the time morning comes, they are huge and fluffy!  And 20 minutes in the oven... Voila!
Oh... we forgot to bring in the 1 slice of pizza last night from the back patio.  Looks like someone had a nice little bonus dinner!  Raccoon? Skunk???  Or cat????
After breakfast, it was an easy bake for Graham's birthday cake.  He had picked this out on the shopping list for our grocery store pickup:
I was trying to figure out how to decorate the cake and thankfully we still had some strawberries left and Bobby had bought some easy-melt chocolate wafers.  YUM!!!
Graham seemed to know exactly what he wanted his cake to look like:
And what do you do with leftover chocolate covered strawberries?  You eat them of course!  Graham was nice enough to save one for each of us.  He's so sweet :-)
Ta da!!!  Such a sweet cake!  I love this photo of Graham :-)
And then, Charlie comes into the photo.  Ha ha!!!
Graham even let Charlie blow out his candles with him.  Actually, there was no real agreement.  Charlie did end up blowing out the last candle for Graham and Graham didn't even fret about it:
Ha ha... the boys LOVE chocolate covered strawberries!  Just glad we didn't have to pay $15 for 6 like we did at the mall:
After cake, we are off to the Botanic Gardens.  The boys did finish up their school work by the way and thankfully it was a short day!

Always different flowers in bloom when we come by:
Too bad this one didn't open up yet:
I always think it's funny how even cacti has such pretty flowers:
Graham is showing off his new watch - it even keeps track of your blood pressure!
We found a nice shady spot with a bench so Graham is busy opening up another present:
By the way, he had written me a list of things he wanted for his birthday and this is one of them - a Minecraft book.  I still don't exactly know what goes on in this Minecraft world.  You'd think I'd be better at finding out!  Anyway, the boys have categorized these games as "Educational and Strategy" so that way they can play it during the week.  These boys!!!
Daddy needs to put his phone down and enjoy the flowers!!! :-P   If anything, he is at least carrying our bag :-)
Looks like we found a nice spot to rest!
I told Charlie to give me a "I wonder what this is" sort of look.  I think he definitely pulled it off!
What is this thing anyway?  Charlie said it's a crane.  Graham said it's junk.  Ha ha!
Anyway, here's my view from the ground.  It's a nice one, except I think I also hear a lot of bees buzzing around but can't really see them??!
Awww.... Charlie has come to snuggle :-)
As usual, we have brought some chips and birthday boy LOVES his nacho chips!
Still have to wipe up his face and hands for him when he is done.  He is still such a messy eater! Hopefully that will change in time??! But he is already 10 years old!

We spotted a lovely butterfly on our way out.  So neat!
Posing by some rocks:
When we got home, we were pleasantly surprised a birthday gift from a nice friend.  So sweet!
Funny, but Bobby and I were just talking about this old-school Battleship game!
One more birthday present - we love Roald Dahl books!
Let the battle begin!!!  So thankful for this backyard during these "Stay home" times:
Graham wanted chicken pot pie but without peas and carrots... which meant that we couldn't order just any kind of pot pie from the store.  And I was not prepared to make any.  So we opted for the next best thing - fried chicken!
Family we-fie!
I think it's funny how Graham just smooothers his chicken with ranch dressing :-)
Okay, one last present for the day!  See... who said newspapers don't make great wrapping paper? Boys were happily reading.  Ha ha!
Graham is so sweet to always let Charlie open up all his presents:
Thank you Grandma and Pop-pop for the awesome Lego set!
There are 4 different robots that you can build with this set and over 60+ activities to play with.  Woah!!!
Fingers crossed this all goes well!  Happy birthday Graham!  Hope you had a great day.  Mommy and Daddy and Charlie love you lots! XOX
