Attic cleaning and insulation

We finally had our attic cleaned out and re-insulated yesterday.  I'm so happy that it's all nice and clean in there now.  Yay!  Especially when we had previous rodent issues before and the boys' bedrooms are just below the attic space as well.

The company definitely looked like they knew what they were doing.  They set up this tunnel from the front door to the attic opening along the hallway:
Look at the size of that hose!  They basically sucked up everything from inside the attic (and I hate to know what else was up there other than blown insulation).  Here's the before photo:
What a mess!  And that old insulation wasn't very thick either.

I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the guys in their hazmat suits.  I did see them taping the seams/themselves up with duct tape! Everything looking very "X-File" from this side of the house:
They used poles to put up these plastic sheets and if we had to go through it, they installed stick-on zippers.  How snazzy!
The only thing we were unhappy about was that the top end of the poles left some black markings on our ceiling.  But other than that, no other clean up!  I was definitely happy about that.  They sucked everything out, sealed everything and rodent proofed the attic:
And then re-insulated with 10" insulation:
It's a thing of beauty!  It seems to be helping with keeping the temperature down in the front living room.  It will be interesting to see what the numbers are when it's 100F outside:
And see all the space we gained by cleaning up the space.  Ha ha!
You're probably thinking "That's not a not of space" but trust me, it's more than what we previously had before the guys showed up.

Well if anything, it's also a piece of mind now that everything is clean in the attic.  A bit pricey for "a piece of mind" is what Bobby would probably say, but hey... Happy Wife, Happy Life :-)
