Another new Betta fish

Since the unexpected death of our snail Blue a few weeks ago, we decided to let Charlie pick out a new fish for the smaller fish bowl.  He was so excited!  He also wanted a new snail.

We drove to another fish store in Torrance as we were picking up something else for Graham's room (yup, another blog post about that soon!).  The fish in here are so much cheaper compared to the other place in San Pedro.

So here she is:

We decided to get a female Betta as they are smaller and our fish bowl is really quite small.  Isn't she pretty!
Charlie decided to name her "Sky", for the little blue dab that's in her tail.

And here is "Stripes" the new snail.  It is the same kind as Zebra, which is the other/original snail that we have in the bigger tank with Noodles:
I think Sky is feeling quite comfy in her little bowl.  She definitely seems friendlier than Noodles, the male Betta!
It was funny watching Noodles react when he first spotted Sky:
I'm not sure if Noodles is showing off by expanding all of his fins or if he's actually angry:
I guess we will never know!  Unless of course if Noodles starts to make a "bubble nest".  It is exactly what that means - a nest that consists of bubbles, but I'd be nervous to put the two bettas together. Male bettas are obviously known to fight.  Maybe I'll leave that to the professionals when the time comes!  Or... another online tutorial.  He he :-D
