Quick trip to Dana Point

So here's a little awkward situation... Bobby mentioned that we should go to Dana Point together to meet his new boss (yes, another new job!).  I said "Sure!" and to make sure his boss pays for lunch.  Ha ha! But then the REAL story gets out when we are on our way there... that Bobby will actually be having lunch with his boss and leaving us three to ourselves.  WHAT...??!!

Anyway, here's another snapshot of our new car - the Audi Sportsback.  Love it! :-)

What a view of the harbor at Dana Point!
So while Bobby is out on a date with his new boss, the boys and I were determined to get a fancy lunch in town :-P
This is a good start!  Can't go too wrong with a restaurant with a Porsche parked outside of it.  Ha ha!
Since we were taking our lunch to-go, Graham and Charlie had to chow down on their ice-cream sandwiches first.  I never had a doubt that would be a problem with these two monkeys:
I told you we got this picnic thing down.  We travel with this picnic blanket everywhere!
Technically, we were suppose to be at the park on the other side of the street but somehow I couldn't find the entry into that park.  Never the less, it's fancy lunch time!  Mommy ordered a crabcake salad and thankfully I only ordered one order of chicken strips for the boys.  It's a lot of chicken!  And too bad there was only one crabcake.  I could have gone with one more and the grapefruit (which almost looks like tuna chunks) was a nice touch:
After lunch, we did managed to find the other park on the other side of the street.  Time for some scootering while we wait for Daddy:
Daddy's back!  Time to show off some tumbling skills... down the hill Graham goes!!!
Graham is a pro at this now.  Ha ha!  And here is Charlie going down the hill - with some points for style too :-D
I thought it was funny how he was trying to find his balance when he was getting up. Too cute!

After the park, we hit the beach.  We found this outlet where the boys could get their feet wet.  At least that's the plan - just the feet:
Charlie had a slight problem getting down from the rocks.  Nothing Daddy can't take care of:
By the time Charlie gets down, Graham is already aaaaaaaall the way on the left side of this photo! Can you spot him??!

Brothers! Those animal masks are so cute on them.  I'm bias, obviously :-D
What do these other kids don't understand about "social distancing"?  Sheesh!!!
Family we-fie!  I love this photo:
I was going to have all of us at the end where that structure is sticking out, but there were some people there earlier and the lifeguard came by and told them to get off it. Oh well, maybe next time when no one is looking.  He he...

Anyway, a good day no less!  The boys got to play some more video games in the car on the way home.  I hope these two don't have bad postures because of this.  Charlie's shoulders are already starting to hunch over :-(
On the way home, I told Bobby to turn off the freeway so we could check out San Juan Capistrano.  This photo below was a cathedral in the town.  So pretty:
Here it is!  The San Juan Capistrano Mission.  You can't really see it too well in the photo but trust me, it was quite amazing even just from off the streets driving by:
I'm predicting there will be another road trip to this destination in the near future.  And supposedly there are swallows that fly back to this Mission every year.  The event is coming up in a couple of weeks and will be available to watch online.  We'll be watching for sure!

This is what happens when you don't allow Graham and Charlie to play on their video games on the way home:
Graham hardly EVER takes a nap anymore and a few minutes later, he's "catching flies":
So all in all, an awesome one-day road trip - even though we didn't get to have a free lunch with Bobby and his boss!  :-P
