Dodgers baseball game

Talk about a full-on Californian weekend!  On Saturday we went to the beach for bodyboarding and on Sunday, we decided at the last minute to go to the LA Dodgers baseball game.  Actually, we were watching the baseball game Saturday night and saw that there was a promotional Kid's backpack for Sunday's game.  So... who doesn't want a free LA Dodgers backpack??!!  (Well, technically not free since we still have to pay for tickets!)  Anyhow, we were SOOOO early - to be extra sure that we would get the bag.  So early in fact that the gate wasn't even open yet. Ha ha!
Yay for the backpacks!!!
Hmmm... 2 more hours before game time.  What shall we do???
Take more pictures!!! I want to know how that signature actually spells Clayton Kershaw???!!
Thankfully we have plenty of time to figure out our seats.  We are in the wrong section and waaaaaay too high up for the boys!  See that shade in the middle tier section?  That's where we are.  Obviously on the opposite end:
While Daddy gets some free sunscreen from the Help Desk, we are checking out the Bobble head collection:
Too cool!!!
After scouting out the Team Store, we finally get to our seats.  Shade!!!  Even thought it was only 84F, it was still so warm and somehow not much of a cross-breeze.  And the loud-speakers are super loud here!
But speaking of the Team Store... Momma got some new Dodger socks!!!  Got to get into the team spirit here :-D
Okay, looks like everyone is all settled now.  This seems to be the routine: Frozen lemonade for Graham and popcorn for Charlie:
Charlie is so protective of his popcorn, especially from Daddy!
About halfway through the game, the camera guy shows up.  The boys and I were so excited!  But unfortunately, we didn't get on the Jumbotron.  Then, when the inning was over, the camera guy came back!  All that while, he was waiting at the top of the stairs where we were seated.  How nice was that :-)
Woohoo...!!!  Graham and Charlie on the Jumbotron!!!  Definitely one to remember!!!
Four major league baseball games later this season, Graham and Charlie are getting the hang of singing the "Take me out to the Ball Game" song  :-D
Bob and I were debating about leaving after the 7th inning stretch but looks like the boys want to stay.  There was a brief announcement prior to the 7th inning stretch about "Kids Run the Bases".  This was just like the Tulsa Drillers' game when we lived in Oklahoma.  But gosh... we didn't have this many people going onto the field!!!
While we waited for our turn, there were lots more time for more photo ops.  We didn't get to step on the grass but close enough!
Pretty amazing to think how the baseball players are able to jump this high to catch the ball:
Family photo op! Urgh... too bad Charlie was purposely being pouty here although I think still worthy for our photo wall at home:
Okay, almost our turn!
And we're off!  Here is the video link: https://youtu.be/-Voz49IYrk0
Too bad my video was very amateur-ish and I lost sight of the boys!

Running around the base definitely didn't take too long. As you can see from the video, I think Charlie overtook Graham by the 3rd base.  And the only reason we spotted Graham was because he had to tie his up his shoe lace at home plate:
It was a bit nerve wrecking not seeing Charlie right by Graham.  But thankfully Charlie waited patiently right after the gate.  He is just admitting now that he was scared when he didn't see us.  Oops!

I loved how this couple were getting their little kids (looked like twins perhaps) out on the field - the dad was with one kid by the stroller and the mom is ahead with the other kid.  We probably would have done the same :-)
It's time to find our exit.  Instead of waiting for the lift, we decided to find the stairs and ended up in this "special" area:
Lots of memorabilia and history... and replica lockers???!
These were really cool - coins that were used back in 1962:
Too bad these photos that I took in this section were kinda blurry.  Oh, by the way I am using a back-up camera. My usual/older camera quit working!  I dropped it in the car last week and I guess the camera decided it had enough abuse. Ha!
I really liked these old trunks.  What a way to travel!
Replica of the stadium:
What a fun day!!!  As for dinner, we decided to try something different this time - Koreatown! It was about 20 minutes away from the stadium. There was an all-you-can-eat place which was too busy so we opted for a smaller restaurant next door instead.  I took a photo of the menu so I will remember the name for next time :-)
The bibimbap was just so-so but the bulgogi tacos were really YUMMY.  And at least the boys enjoyed the popcorn chicken too!  Definitely a must-do again when we are in the area:
A memorable California weekend for sure!!! :-)
