Road trip to Point Pleasant, NJ ~ 7/6

Looks like I'm definitely waaaaay behind my blog posting this past month.  We have been to Malaysia and back for the summer holidays and I caught Covid and have recovered. So, lots to update!  But in the meantime, here's our trip to NJ during the earlier part of the boys' summer holidays:

We're off on another road trip! We decided to visit Grandma and Pop-pop and the rest of Bobby's family by the Jersey Shore.  It will take us 2 days to get there.  All packed!  It's so full because we also packed pillows, sheets, and sleeping bags.  We don't normally have this much stuff :-P
And all ready to go.  Yup, Charlie is carrying his stuffed animal/dog on the trip. Still such a kid!
I thought this was interesting. I've never quite seen a truck like this before where it says, Passing Side to the left and Suicide to the right. Ha!
Snack time!  The rest areas along the Ohio Turnpike are so nice now:
Looks like rain:
Yup, we love Ohio - at lease the rest stops :-)
For dinner, we stopped Applebee's.  And Bobby mentioned about their lava cake.  Yuuummm....
In the hotel, the boys are definitely just doing what the boys normally do:
Oh, Bobby is not with us on this trip as he had started a new job and he will be flying in instead.  Daddy is missing in on this fun:
Breakfast the next morning - Graham is having yogurt mixed in with cereal:
Charlie has made himself a waffle and has brought along 2 or 3 cups of those syrup.  Seems that daddy allows that?!
Pit stop!  But Graham is cleaning his side of the window??
We decided to stop by the market in Harrisburg:
What a huge tomato!
There's 2 buildings in this market area and gosh, so hot in the area that serves most of the food.  Charlie is eyeing the people playing chess next to us:
Charlie actually asked if he could play on of them, but they said no.  I think deep down they were afraid to lose to a kid!

Did I mention how hot it was inside the building? We are sweating bullets while eating:
Lovely bridges in Harrisburg, along the Susquehanna River:
Graham made a funny about seeing a Sasquatch along the other side of the river.  Ha ha!

More rain!
After 2 days of driving, we finally made it.  Hello Grandma and Pop-Pop on the balcony!
And uncle Doug has decided to get a pool during our time here.  Woah!
Didn't take long for Charlie to bust out his fishing gear:
And Graham actually bought this inflatable back in IL and brought it along the trip when we heard about the pool:
Hmmm, decisions, decisions - Charlie can't decide which bait to use for this inlet??
First meal at the beach house - with cousin Matthew and girlfriend:
We are also busting out the chess set.  Game on!
In the meantime, Graham has found the video games downstairs in the basement:
Before the end o f the night, all the kids are enjoying a few games of pool:
Great first day so far!  Waiting on Daddy to show up tomorrow, as he is flying in. Yay!
