Nearest to the Pin

Looks like the practice paid off.  We were playing in a charity event this past weekend and Graham ended up winning the Nearest to the Pin contest on Hole #2! Woohoo!!!

How about that!  Bobby and I struggled a little bit as the wind was blowing pretty hard that day.  That's my excuse, at least.  But it was definitely a fun day no less especially when we got to wear a lot of pink gear to support Birdies for Breast Cancer:
Okay, maybe not overly pink but I could only find pink socks at the last minute.

Here's how far Graham's ball was from the pin - 8 ft 1 in:
He was so super happy, especially when the prize was a nice chunk of change for the Golf House :-)

Happy Family we-fie!
I tried out the panorama again on my phone/camera.  The views at this Terranea Golf Course is just spectacular:
Daddy was close to getting Nearest to the Pin on the 9th/last hole... but sadly no:
In any case, it was a great day and we finally got to have a nice dinner at the restaurant by the resort too.  We weren't going to wait 2-3 hours last time on Bobby's birthday as we didn't have a reservation, but this time we planned ahead:
After dinner, we walk back to the car and while doing so find some things along the way.  Like this lizard basking in the sun:
A sea gull just hanging out on the post:
Seems a bit more difficult to go uphill after a full meal, as Mommy lags behind the boys.  Ha ha!
Another beautiful view.  Yup, that's my shadow:
There was an oil spill on Sunday by Huntington Beach, which isn't far from us.  Hopefully the oil will get contained and doesn't come by us.  That would be tragic, as it is already creating quite a mess to the wildlife there.

And I should have learned by now not to let the boys play with my phone in the car.  They are constantly taking weird and wild photos. LOL!!!
Another successful outing for the family! :-D
