Visiting a new park (June 27)

Just over a couple of weekends ago, we visited a new park called El Dorado Park.  It's a HUGE park! We went there specifically to check out an archery tournament:

Not too busy but there's definitely something going on around here:
The other side of this field are just random people that bring their own bows and arrows.  And they set up their own targets by the hay bale that's lined up all along the one end/edge of the field.  How fun!
After about 10 minutes, the boys are starting to get bored.  These kids, I tell you!
Well, we drive off from the archery area and explore the park.  Lots of random play areas and thankfully it's not too busy in any of them:
Charlie got so angry with Graham while playing on this equipment because Graham would stand up and it would scare Charlie as he would end up going up and down too quickly/high:
It's never a dull moment until we continue driving and discover a spot where people can bring their remote control airplanes to fly.  Neat!
Look at their collection of planes. Yikes! That's quite the hobby!
Is that the same as having bags and bags of golf clubs? Although mine just sit in the garage because I don't use them anymore. Hmmm...

There were also places to fly remote control helicopters, drones, and racing cars.  Sheesh! And there was also a pond with remote control sailboats.  So many people with so many different toys! I guess we'll have to come back again next time and check out some of these other things.  Plus, there's also a train and a place to pan for gold, although you'll have to pay extra for that.

Good news is we found a place that served yummy BBQ not too far from this park :-)
Supposedly there will be some free archery lessons starting this weekend at this park.  Might be worth checking. The only problem is it's first come first serve, which means I'll have to set my alarm clock extra early! :-P
