Charlie's pink eye

As I had mentioned, never a dull moment in this household.  The nurse at Charlie's school called Bobby (I wonder why I wasn't first on the call list.  Anyway...) and mentioned that Charlie has pink eye. Oops! Where did he catch it from??!

As you can see, it's his right eye. But by Friday, the pink eye was in both eyes! Bobby had taken Charlie to the urgent care on Thursday and was able to get a prescription for some eye drops. We unfortunately had to pay for the drops. Sheesh! Hopefully the insurance provided by the state of IL is as good as the one in CA?! But from the sounds of it, we might have a bill coming from the urgent care??!

Charlie also managed to break some capillaries in his right eye as well by Friday night.  Oops!

Thankfully nothing hurts and it should heal on its own, based on what I'm reading on the internet.

The biggest upset was that Charlie could not attend a friend's birthday party on Saturday. It was at this place that's almost like an amusement center - with a bowling alley, laser tag, and even an obstacle rope course above the entire arcade!  We will probably have to make up for this when Spring Break comes around at the end of the month.

Charlie was well enough though that we could all still go snowboarding and skiing over the weekend (photos of that to come later!). He did mention that he had a scratchy throat on Saturday. I was already warned by his teacher that Strep normally follows pink eye. Thankfully that wasn't the case for Charlie as he said his throat felt better by Sunday night. Phew!! Just a few more drops to go into his eye today and fingers crossed, he is all good!
