First visit to Legoland (Nov 17 & 18) - Part 1

The Legoland visit actually happened a month ago and this was Charlie's request for his birthday - and that was back at the end of July!  We are finally catching up to it.  Phew!!!
I really need to get back to using a camera more as downloading the photos to my computer is a 2-step process and it is taking too long. Grrrr...!!!

Anyhow, where do I start? The Legoland Hotel of course! Yes, that was part of the deal for Charlie too.  Talk about spoiled!!!
In the lobby, while waiting for Daddy to check us in - the boys are diving in. Literally:
The room was super cute with an Adventure theme:
The boys' bunk beds were super cute! Wait, I already said "super cute". Ha!
Graham and Charlie were super excited that it came with a TV too of course!
And check out the Lego "scorpion" in the bathroom!
The kids were assigned with a treasure hunt with clues to open up the combination of a safe.  How many Pridgens does it really take??? Yes, all 3! :-D
Once the kids get their toys from the safe, it is off downstairs to play!
We have only just arrived and Charlie is already having so much fun.  I would say it is already a successful birthday trip :-D
We eat at one of the 2 restaurants.  Some fun hotel facts:
There are also other interesting things around the hotel like...:

The whoopie cushion by the elevator:
And the elevator with the disco ball!
The next day, we are ready for the breakfast buffet:
Check out that Lego chefs in the background.  ALL Legos... Amazing!!!
And we're off!  Woohoooo...!!!
Sunscreen a bit uneven on all the boys' faces but at least it's on!
Since we are staying at the hotel, we get to go into the park an hour before the general public.  Double woohooo...!!!
The boys are busy with maps again as usual with any park:
But once the gates are opened, the maps disappear.  We make two rights and into Ninjago World:
Woah... check this out.  Again... ALL LEGOS!!!  How do they do that??!  Obviously too much time on their hands.  HAHA!!!
Yay for no lines!!!
We go into this 3-D ride where we are shooting laser with hand movements.  How is it that Charlie has the highest score??! That's him with 137,300 points and Graham has 105,100 points. Bobby and I obviously didn't do that well. LOL!
First ride of the day and it gets a 2-thumbs up approval from Graham.  Hopefully the rest of the park is now still up to everyone's standards:
What's this??!  A game where if you can bounce some balls into a bin you can win one of these MASSIVE Ninja balls?  Well, we win not one but TWO and a pink Panda bear.  Thankfully we can deflate these Ninja heads and the hotel is within walking distance.  SO... we send Bobby back to the hotel room :-)
While waiting for Daddy to get back, we get onto another ride.  Thankfully no one gets wet with this one:
We find a place to play Lego video games.  Thank goodness I was able to drag Graham and Charlie out of this place!

Across from the video games, the kids can build their own race cars and race it with other players:
The boys' race cars didn't do all that well, but they certainly had fun racing!
After the races, we head over to a few rides.  One of them is a boat ride to see all the famous structures around the world:
It's pretty impressive what you can do with Legos:
... like the entire New York skyline in Legos??!!
After the boat ride, we go on another race - this time with boats of course:
Miniland USA:
Bobby was actually quite disappointed as the Legos were quite faded and there were leaves and cobwebs on the displays:
This Star Wards section was pretty cool:
I wonder how long it took to build the Death Star??!
Part of the workshop:
We find Emmit from the the Lego Movie! Everything is AWESOME!!!
We made an appointment to join the Mindstorms session.  Charlie was just under the age requirement but thankfully there was a vacant computer station for him and Mommy to share.  The reason for the age requirement was because the kids had to handle robotic Legos. They had to program the robot to perform specific tasks:
It was a 45 minute session and Graham LOVED it!  Maybe someday Graham and Charlie will be smart like Einstein??!
After the robotic session, it's lunch and then, attempts to get this MASSIVE pink flamingo??! Thankfully no one was tempted.  We are not lugging that thing around!
What's next... driving a little Lego boat.  Traffic jam!!!
What can't Lego do???!
Christmas photo op.  Too bad Charlie is grumpy  :-\
We decided to make some of our own Lego mini-figures.  You can actually exchange your mini-figure with any of the Lego staff in the park:
Looks like lots of "driving" rides:
This next ride was actually quite fun - where you have to pull you and your buddy up to a pretty good height!  Then you let go of the rope and your seat goes down at a manageable speed (thankfully!).  And then you get to do it all over again :-)
One thing after another - time for a 4D mini movie!
We are back towards the entrance of the park somehow. It is getting dark soon...
Graham and Charlie tries out a the Raptor Climb.  Not so easy!
But we get more stuff animals.  More stuff animals = more dust!!! URGH!!!
One last ride through the world of Nursery Rhymes.  Gosh, sure a lot of boat rides now that I am writing about it!
It's almost closing time but Charlie is persistent about going to the Aquarium section of the park.  And who knew that it actually closes later! So it's a win!!!
Daddy being silly. Ha ha!
8 hours later and we are still going strong!
I wonder how much you get paid as being a Lego builder.  Hmmm....
I can't imagine how the Megalodon ever existed.  Bigger than a school bus??!
Maybe it's a good thing the Megalodon is extinct!
Legoland definitely didn't fail to impress:
The park is now closed but oh wait, we didn't go into the Big Store (of Legos) yet!!!
Life-size Batman! Woah!!!
After purchasing some smaller Lego projects, we head out back to our hotel.  To be continued...
