Another successful hair donation campaign!

This past Tuesday ~ Aug 2, in conjunction with the LPGA Futures Tour Pennsylvania Classic, the Golf Course at Felicita in Harrisburg, PA hosted the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign. Going into the event, we only had about 2 or 3 players volunteering to donate their hair. I was quite discouraged by the numbers but at the end of the day, we had 7 players including myself!
From left to right, we have Courtney Mahon, Madeleine Holmblad, Danielle Mills, Stephanie Na, Mo Martin, myself, and Juliana Ortiz. Here are some before and after photo shots posted on the LPGA Futures Tour website: http://www.lpgafuturestour.com/content_1.aspx?pid=29140&mid=1
I think everyone looks great after their new hair cuts! And by the way, kudos to Courtney for buzzing her hair too!

Bobby and a couple of the players' caddies (Pat Finley and Brett Mulcahy) decided to buzz their hair as well in support of the event. Very cool!
Looks like Graham is the only one that escaped the clippers!
This year, Colour Forte' salon stepped up to donate their services. Thank you to salon owner Lisa (left) and her helpful assistant Rebekah. The girls really love their new hair-dos!
We also had one other volunteer that had signed up through the salon. Erica Bowling took the time to drive by to the golf course to donate her beautiful locks!
All in all, it was a wonderful day! Many thanks to the tournament organizer Maura Donley for helping me put the event together.
Maura even got the local Fox news to come out!
And we made the local evening news :-)

I'm still waiting on one other lock of hair from another player on the Futures Tour. Once I have hers, we'll have a total of 10 ziplock bags of pony tails!.. and that also includes the ponytail of little Elizabeth Meyer. She looks so adorable in her short hair! Thanks again to her mom Jennifer (of the LPGA office) for helping me spread the word of the event and most of all for encouraging her daughter to think of others at a young age!

All of you did a great, generous thing with your donations. Each of you is a shining example of charity and kindness.
