Bobby's birthday at California Adventure Park (May 30)

It's Bobby's birthday!!  And somehow he had planned that we go to Disneyland as well.  It was only suppose to be one night but now we're spending 2 nights.  Graham and Charlie will definitely be  happy about that!

We are in our new (used) car and I guess it's sort of a road trip.  We just spent the last 3 hours trying to get a good deal for this vehicle, so I guess the boys do deserve their Happy Meal:
Thankfully the Disneyland Hotel was only about 15 minutes away from the dealership:
Woohoo!!
Boys watching TV while Bobby checks us in:
Can't complain about the view!
Can't complain about the beds either.  They were so super comfy... like laying on marshmallows!
After a quick rest, we are off to Disneyland:
I thought it would be busier especially with it being Memorial Day:
We actually decided to visit California Adventure Parks first today:
Didn't take long for us to just hang out while Daddy figures out how to work the App for Disneyland.  What happened to maps??!
Although, we did need this App to get expedited times (Lightning Lane!) for the rides.  We start out with this Guardian of Galaxy ride that you see in the backdrop:
Well,... let's just say we are NEVER EVER going to go on THAT ride EVER AGAIN!!!  Poor Charlie was screaming and curled up like a ball.  I was hugging Charlie to console him throughout the entire ride.  Graham discovered that if he kept himself lifted off the seat with this arms, he won't feel the zero gravity when the ride dropped from a high level. And as for Bobby, I will never know for sure.  But we are now never to speak of this ride ever again.  Ha!  And oh, come to find out - Graham told us later that this ride used to be called The Tower of Terror.  OMG!!!  Terror for sure!!!

It definitely took us a few minutes to gather ourselves.  Poor Graham was finally letting his tears flow and everyone needed some comforting hugs after that crazy experience.

Ok, we are ready for our next ride!!  The description of this ride was not as bad as the last one.  Although I think Disney management definitely downplayed the words "Drops":
More lines!
We are definitely feel better now :-)
We walk around to discover more of the park. Here is the landscape just like in the animation Cars:
Time for some ice-cream.  Graham's expression is so cute here:
Charlie actually decided on a root-beer float.  Looks like he needs to be quick as his floating ice cream is sinking!!!
Graham and Charlie having fun with some props.  This fishing net was similar to one in the animation Finding Nemo. Charlie it above the fish/net.  Can you see Graham?
This is a pretty section of the park.  To the left of the photo is the start of a roller-coaster ride:
... which no one wants to get on.  Ha ha!
Graham is happy just playing with this mega ball that's being turned by water:
Daddy and Charlie are happy eating pop-corn:
Charlie and I were also busy shopping.  He found a cute cap!  It's from the movie Red - about a girl that turns into a Red Panda:
The boys bought Daddy a "I Lava You" pin.  Awwww, we love that song:
We didn't think we would stay that long for the World of Color show, but we found a nice bench on the opposite end of the lake:
The show was so cool!  With lights and lasers and projections:
And even fire!!!
What a show!  Ok, time to head back to the hotel.  But not before this photo op.  Ha ha!
We spotted a "help desk" so to speak and finally got Bobby his birthday pin :-D
Oh look, it's Spiderman!
Gotta take a photo with Spidey!
Graham really wanted to buy one of these spider robots:
I'm glad they got it out of their system while they were trying it out.  It would have cost a lot and you actually had to buy 2 so Graham and Charlie would be able to "fight" each other:
Oh wait, is that the building... the "T" word that we never speak of again??!  LOL!!
Hanging out by the Avengers area:
We missed the Dr. Strange show earlier but found this nearby.  Very cool 3D effect!
Graham and Charlie were being silly here - pretending like they walked into an invincible wall.  The background is actually angled in a way like there's a lot back there, but it actually ends.  And the sky is fake too!
It was a good day!
One quick photos of the Award Wieners.  Didn't get a chance to eat one:
Fun day!
Oh my goodness, Graham and Charlie kept going into this store at the end of Downtown Disney.  It's obviously a Star Wars store.  Crazy how much people can spend on one of these Light Sabers:
We are finally able to pull the boys out of that store.  By the way, it's probably about 11:30pm by the time we get back into our room.  Check out these light fixtures.  So cute!
This one was in the bathroom. It's Mickey's hand!  Bobby was imagining that Mickey was behind the wall.  Ha ha!
Even the faucets were shaped with Mickey's ears:
What a great day!  Okay, except for that first ride.  More to come tomorrow at Disneyland Park! :-D
