Finally golfing again (July 26)

We had actually decided to join a golf club even before we made the physical move the Illinois.  It has turned out quite positively because we were able to use the City Club in Los Angeles (for Mother's Day), played some golf at a golf course that has reciprocity to this one, and also we signed our loan documents at the Tower Club in Dallas!  It was great being able to use all these club benefits - or at least that's what I tell myself since we have already started paying membership fees and not played any golf yet at the actual club.  Ha ha!

But we all finally made it to the golf club.  Whoopee!!  The pool is conveniently located next to the driving range.  So I guess when the boys feel like swimming, they can just head over there while Mommy and Daddy continue to hit balls??! :-D
Can't miss Graham in his red shirts.  He loves practicing out of bunkers!
The next day, we have a tee time in the afternoon.  Hmmm, this is not looking good:
Hmmm, maybe it might clear up?!
Nope!  The golf course is starting to flood!
Yup, flooding on this side too:
Even the parking lot has flooded!
Thankfully, we don't have to worry about driving in all that water with our big truck :-)

And look, there are a couple of simulators on-site.  Yay!!
The boys definitely love doing this.  And sometimes I think they enjoy the simulators more versus actually being out on the golf course:
And then, come to find out - there's all sort of games on these simulators.  Dodgeball...
Soccer... (yup, that's Bobby!):
We spent almost a good 2 hours messing about by the simulators. I got to hit some balls to get some numbers of a few of my clubs.  But these days, I'm not even sure what these numbers even really mean.  It's getting too complicated!

Well, the very next day, we finally make it out to the golf course.  Super Yay!!
There weren't enough golf push-carts though so everyone has to carry their own bags.  And the boys did it too!  I'm so proud of them.  I hope they will grow to love the game.  We might sign them up for weekly lessons.  We'll see how the school schedule goes first.

Oh, total wheel-size envy over here.  Can't believe this Jeep has bigger tires than our truck!
But the boys and I always agree that we have a very good looking car.  I'm so glad we decided to get a new vehicle for our new life here in IL.  Knock on wood, everything is going as planned and at times, even better than expected!
