Trip to the Zoo

Almost every time we come out to Phoenix, we always try and make a trip to the zoo.  The boys just love animals!  It's the first time we have actually visited the zoo later in the afternoon.  Most of the time we try and do it in the morning as it just gets so hot.  We arrived at about 3:30pm and it was a nice and shady walk around the zoo.

Doesn't take long for Graham to find the map and looks like the zoo lights are still out! Dinosaur ROAR!!!
Giraffe and a BIG ostrich!!!
Did you know that an anteater doesn't actually eat ants??? It eats termites!  And this fox smells like skunk!!!
You probably can't really see this really well, but Graham and Charlie are looking over at a zoo staff.  Her feet are in the water and she is pinching a shrimp in between her toes for the stingrays.  You can sort of see a spotted one by her foot.  Interesting feeding method :-D
Cool looking owl!
The boys took a photo on top of this frog during the last visit, so we had to just get on it again.  I will need to find the previous photo!
We spot this lizard in its exhibit - chomping on these succulent flowers.  Who knew these flowers were actually food!
Graham and Charlie being silly :-)
Climbing time!

I would recognize that emblem anywhere!  It's the Coat of Arms of Malaysia - by the Tiger exhibit:
This tiger just started pacing back and forth along the glass.  Too cool!
Charlie being Charlie.  Funny how he likes wearing a wrist band :-)
We spent about 2 hours at the zoo so we skip the hiking nearby.  Charlie is quite disappointed as he has somehow taken into hiking. Thankfully he is happy with coloring before dinner arrives at the restaurant:
Graham on the other hand is exhausted!  We keep telling him to sleep in but he is almost always up at 6-630am every... single... day...
What a pretty sunset after dinner:
Another great day in Phoenix!
