Malaysia trip (Nov 2023) ~ Part 2

The adventures in my hometown of Kota Kinabalu continues.  Here we are visiting a temple near by.  I've been visiting this Quan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) since I was a kid:
My grandmother's ashes are also kept on property here:
What's the day without more food :-)
I went out for a nice meal with my cousin as well.  She took me to a Korean BBQ, sort of like cook-our-own-food on a skillet.  Those cubes on the skillet is actually animal fat. Ha!
Oooh, these ribs were so good, plus all the other little dishes too. And I do love kimchi!
And this was some sort of seafood pancake.  OMG, yummm!!
Okay, back at the hospital to see my dad.  I had to park SOOOOOO far away from the hospital on this day!
Charlie made a card from his friend.  Look how cute this is!  He even has his fancy signature.  Ha!
When I was golfing in an LPGA event in Kuala Lumpur a few years ago, this friend here caddied me.  And now he is visiting KK for business.  Look at all of his business cards - he's involved in so many different businesses!
Another sunset from the hospital window:
Dad is having to do dialysis.  It's amazing how these machines work:
I had to buy some sun-sleeves for driving. It is so hot around here!  And of course, nothing matches the local prints on my new pants. LOL!
Having lunch (fried rice with pork chops) across the street from my dad's office - with dad's long time office assistant. She's known us since we were babies:
Here's a local fruit called tarap and it's only available in Borneo:
Look at all the types of flour that's available in the supermarket here. There's even more of a variety of the Red Mill here compared to the US.  How is that?!
Oops, my plant didn't last in this little coconut planter.  Oops!
O.M.G, found some pickled shallots. One of my favorite snacks!
There's Mount Kinabalu in the distance - highest peak in Southeast Asia at 13,435ft:
Hoping to hike it again next year!

My dad's Ping 1-iron.  I can't imagine having to hit one of those now:
And some really old woods, like the real woods!
I'm destressing at the driving range today.  Probably should have tried out my dad's 1-iron.  Ha ha!
I had to take a photo of this little turtle - look at the length of his neck.  Yikes!
Borrowing my uncle's van.  So far so good with driving on the other side of the car and on the other side of the road:
OMG, fried enoki mushrooms.  These were SO good!!
Another photo with my crazy morning hair:
And OMG, found this photo - totally look like this cat. LOL!!!
Okay, more photos to come!
