Our last day in Buellton and it's a foggy morning! It's nice and cozy in the Airstream. I told Bobby that he had to experience the cold night in the tent. Ha ha!
Well, seems that it is a cold morning for him and Charlie. Can you see on Bobby's watch? 45.6F... with no heat. He he... and Charlie looks like a grumpy bear!In the meantime, Graham is having a really tough time trying to put on his sweater. And I'm being no help watching and somewhat laughing at him. And obviously took this photo too. Ha!Okay, time for some breakfast in Solvang! I let the boys wear their PJs. Actually, I wasn't far off in my holiday thermal leggings, which I won't take a photo of :-P
Charlie and his sunglasses still!
Graham seems to be doing alright. Windmill in the background!
Ha ha! Bobby is trying out Charlie's fancy sunnies now :-D
Breakfast is served! I'm having homemade biscuit with egg and ham:
Say "YUMMY!!!" Oh wait, you can see my holiday thermal leggings. Ha ha!
After breakfast, it was time to pack up. Charlie is having a tough time rolling up and shoving those sleeping bags back into its bags. Definitely a test of patience!
One last photo with "Blue Bell":
Okay, one VERY last photo with Blue Bell :-)
We decided to hit Solvang again on the way home. This time just in a bookstore where they had a lot of books by Hans Christian Anderson, a Danish author. I didn't realize a lot of the stories I had read as a kid were actually written by him! Such stories including The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, The Wild Swans, and The Tinderbox!
There was a candy-making in the store next door and of course, we had to go in there:
We love Solvang!
This museum is closed on the weekday. What??! :-(
Another view of this lovely stretch before we leave town:
You can still see the remnants of the fire or lack of what used to be there from the fire recently:
Both boys fast asleep! It's a good thing they are still young and flexible. I would be so sore being in those positions. And yes, Graham fell asleep with some nacho chips on his lap. He said he was hungry but obviously too tired to eat first!
Maybe some time to read more of Hans Christian Anderson's stories. We were reading one during a traffic detour:
This ride home is taking forever! Too much red on the live traffic GPS in the car:
And there's all the red brake lights... Yuck!

And just as we were about to exit the freeway, this police car starts zig-zagging his way on the freeway. Couldn't have picked a better time, eh??!
Well, we made it home in one piece thankfully, other than Graham's collarbone. Ha! At least he is still in good spirits. This was definitely a fun and memorable trip (minus the traffic)!!
