Sewing project - Range finder cover

I've had this range finder since I was playing on tour. So that's perhaps as early as 2005?? So the range finder AND this cover is at least 20 years old! And as you can, it's definitely seen better days:

We have plenty of fabric from Graham's old jeans. He keeps putting holes in them!

So glad the pocket of the jean was the perfect size to fix up this cover. A little bit of elbow grease with the needle and thread, and TA DA!!!

The buckle/clip is still broken and I could not break it off. So it will just have to be for now. Let's see how much longer this will last!? :-)

IL Women's Open ~ July 20 & 21

Can't believe it's been one year now since the last IL Women's Open. Yup, we're back at Mistwood Golf Club and this year, Charlie's on my bag!

This is the 2nd time Charlie is caddying me this year. First time being the US Women's Open Qualifier and we did well there!

Didn't realize Charlie was actually taking a video of my tee-shot off the 1st Tee Box. Sneaky!

My swing still looks so slow. Ha ha!!

Looks like one tired kid on the way home!

Today's score was 74 (38, 36) - not too shabby. Sounds like we are both deserving of some ice-cream :-)

Day 2... Charlie is showing me his sock tan. Still got a long way to what mine looked like when I was playing on tour fulltime. Ha ha!

Day 2 score: 76 (41, 35) and that was with a 6 on the Par 3 9th hole. OUCH! Took the cleanest bunker shot and ended up in the water on the other side of the green. Sheesh! So happy with my 1-under comeback on the back-nine with a bogey and 2 birdies. I can do this!!

Nothing like dinner and more dessert for this kiddo!

T-12 for this year overall and T-6 for the Professional division. Glad I still made it in the money! And good job, Charlie :-)

Standard bearer Volunteering ~ July 25-26

There was an opportunity to be a standard bearer for the Evan Scholar Invitational, which is a golf professional event on the Korn Ferry tour (which is one step below the PGA Tour). What is a standard bearer, you ask? It's the volunteers that carry a "scoreboard" so to speak, to keep track of the players' scores throughout the round. Thankfully only 2 players per group.

I guess no one is coming up the 18th hole fairway yet. There is yoga going on - on the fairway. Ha!

So I'm in none of these photos as Daddy is the one taking these. And I'm taking the day off at home, if I'm not mistaken :-P

And in the car, definitely DONE! Both totally fast asleep in the car. LOL!!

Graham and Charlie were only suppose to work on Saturday, but somehow Charlie was assigned for Sunday's shift too. And he managed to wrangle Graham to do it with him again. Thankfully the shift was not as early. Phew!

And they are off! Again - I'm so happy they are doing this. What an experience!

Plus, it's also a great introduction to the Evan Scholarship, which are provided to caddies pursuing a college degree.

I'm glad the boys are older now to be able to volunteer in these opportunities. It would have been funny if they were arguing on the golf course. LOL!

As long as he didn't spit into it. Ha ha!

Supposedly there was no food left after their shift that second day though. Hopefully the Volunteer Organizers will do a better job with that for next year, and maybe the boys will do it again next year. And if you volunteer 4 days during the week, you get to actually play on the golf course!

Vancouver ~ cont. July 8-10

Still in Vancouver, and I think I already mentioned how complicated recycling is here?!

But then again, I suppose we should be better at it here in the US!

My cousin's husband took us to a food court near his work. Prawn mee - haven't had this in ages. YUM!!!

By the way, did I mention that my cousin's husband is also a golf pro? How about that! Supposedly we met in Malaysia during the Sime Darby LPGA event in Kuala Lumpur many many years ago - not knowing that we were even related. Too funny!

Did I mention how many bridges there are around here... and how I love to take photos of them :-)

Fascinating, isn't it?!

We went looking for dinner and found a nice little spot. Yummy Japanese food!

I can't remember what Graham ordered now - but it was obviously on a stick, deep fried with cornflakes or something like that.

Ok, found it - it's amazing what the internet can do! The restaurant was called Awesome Sushi and Graham ordered a Frosted Flake Korean Corn Dog (half cheese and half weiner on the inside). He loved it!

Seems that it doesn't matter which country we're in, Daddy still does not push his chair back in :-P

What a neat little pedestrian area - right near the Community Center in Port Coquitlam:

And the map on the ground - it's actually tells the story of Terry Fox - a notable runner who ran through Port Coquitlam. He embarked on his Marathon on Hope in 1980, aiming to raise funds for cancer research. He ran 5,373 km over 143 days, averaging about 42km per day. That's about 26 miles or a marathon a day. Wow!

We rented a car - seems that all new cars have this reminder now!

The next day, we go visit my uncle's gravesite.

We've been told a few times now, but I believe my uncle's dad and my dad's dad (my grandfather) were brothers.

After the quick visit, we decided to head out to White Rock. Funny thing is, it's literally a white rock and we passed the little town during our train ride!

Seems that we have found Canada's Longest (wooden) Pier. How about that!

I can't remember how long it was (although I'm sure I can find that out). Yup, 470 meters or 1,540 feet!

It was pretty funny though. After hanging out with their cousins, Charlie said that he didn't want to have any children. LOL!!

Quick family reunion with a couple other cousins. So happy that Graham and Charlie are able to meet them!

We decided to drive out a little north to a lake - maybe some bears here? Well, looks like a lot of other wildlife here!

We end up by Buntzen lake - it's a hydro-electric reservoir!

We are back in Port Coquitlam for some ice-cream. They even have doggy ice-cream!

Bobby is born Year of the Dog, but he did just get regular ice-cream and loving every bit of it. Ha!

So glad we made this trip up to Canada!

And looks like Bobby is having a great time too bonding with my other cousin's husband. Here we are - saying our goodbyes. Too funny!

A glimpse of some native Canadian culture at the airport. We didn't really see or venture out too much to see any during this trip. Maybe next time!

Flight is at midnight so lots of time to spare at the airport. Colors of the sunset is even prettier but my phone is not doing it any justice!

Bobby kept talking about eating Poutine and so we finally get our chance to try some in a restaurant in the airport. It's a Canadian dish of french fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Not too bad actually!
