Since the boys have discovered the slow-motion function on my phone, we had to take some of our golf swings so Mommy could see what's going on and perhaps fix a few things:
So here's Graham's swing:
Definitely overswinging a bit, but I suppose while they are so young and flexible - it's probably a non-issue at this time. Do have to watch that right leg as he has a tendency to straighten it once he gets to the top of his backswing. And he is also putting more weight on the outer part of his right foot.Another angle down-the-line:
The angle of his spine changes from downswing to upswing (more upright) and then, he recovers as he goes back down but then the spine angle changes/gets steep again just as he is about to hit the golf ball. Also seems that he is bringing the club inside to out as he starts his downswing.
Here is Charlie's golf swing. Don't mind the washing machine and other messes in the background. Ha ha!
I think Charlie sways just that little bit on his downswing, which makes him top the ball occasionally. We do need to move him away from the baseball grip eventually I think. From another view down the line:
I did have Charlie stand up a little taller as he was slouching or hunched over quite a bit over the ball. His posture definitely looks a lot better here. I think he could use a bit more wrist hinge on the first part of his takeaway/backswing. That and he needs to tie up his hair so it's not in his face!
Okay,... here's Momma's swing:
So looks like I'm still having the same issue as before - getting too steep on the downswing. Hence, being stuck sometimes just before getting to the ball on the downswing. So, nothing's changed after all these years. LOL!!!
And what about Daddy:
Silky smoooooooth!!! :-DIt will be interesting to see how the boys progress each year. We haven't been taking them out to play very much. We've been doing a lot more archery lately. I guess eventually we will have to pick which one they need to focus on more and unfortunately, either sport will cost money. LOL!!!
