"All our backs are packed... we're ready to go."
As usual, traffic everywhere - even at the airport!
This airport always reminds me of the Jetson's cartoon somehow:
It doesn't take long for Graham and Charlie to bust out their tablets while we wait at our gate:
Charlie kept asking if the plane has his favorite video games and of course, I couldn't promise him anything because it has been so long since my last domestic flight! Thankfully there were some kids' games and Charlie got right into it even before the flight took off:
It's no wonder I miss the green. It is so brown! Almost Abu Dhabi-ish:
5 1/2 hours later... Newark, NJ! And so much greener:
A bit tricky trying to get the New York skyline. As usual, Mommy doesn't get the window seat anymore!
We used to travel with a carry-on orange colored bag where the boys would take turns to ride on it. Now, Graham is able to drag Charlie along in a regular-sized suitcase. Ha ha!
While we wait for Grandma to pick us up, I bust out the new doodle pad for the boys. Anything to keep them occupied!
Daddy poses for a sketch:
Not exactly Leonardo Da Vinci... but a hint of Picasso??? :-D
The shell wreath (the anniversary gift) survived its trip in the suitcase!
I think it looks quite pretty :-)
Well, the next day (Friday, Aug 10), there was that excitement of my detached retina. Thankfully it was not too severe so I was still able to attend the Anniversary dinner on Saturday. Will post photos from the rest of our trip later!
