Bird sightings

Just sitting by our window, we are already seeing quite a few birds around the area.  First off, there's a bird's nest right by the top of the downspout!  I believe it's a sparrow's nest. And based on Chinese beliefs, it's suppose to be good luck.  So they can stay.  Ha ha!  At least for now, the downspout doesn't look dirty with any bird poop, so we're good :-)

And just the other day, we thought we saw the new baby birdies trying to fly!  Hopefully they won't fall.  It's a long drop!

And then, there was a woodpecker.  Graham and Charlie have never seen one before, so this was definitely a treat:

I did see the usual squirrels but also saw some chipmunks!  Hopefully those don't cause any trouble.  One of the neighbors here said they can sometimes go into the house. Yikes!  

I still haven't wandered out too much so haven't met many neighbors yet.  Hopefully once the boys start school, we'll meet a few more people in the neighborhood.  Charlie has to catch the bus at 7:30am and Graham's bus is at 8am.  It's too bad I can't see them at the bus stop from the house.  So how long/many days before I can just send them off by themselves? ;-P
