Here's the happy birthday boy! Graham and Charlie are putting up a good challenge for me on those cake designs. I think this one turned out quite nicely :-)
Obviously Captain America theme this year. Thank you Grandma and Pop-pop for doing some pre-birthday shopping!
Looks like the birthday cake is a hit. Time for seconds:
And then it's time to open presents! A nursery rhyme book from Mommy and Daddy and a card and $5 from Grandma and Pop-pop:
Also not forgetting a Hotwheels toy and a fidget spinner - Captain America one of course! I had to order it at the last minute on Amazon.com right before we left Abu Dhabi airport as I had completely forgotten to pack it in the suitcase!Phew! Tough day for "Captain America". By the way, thank you to Grandma and Pop-pop for the awesome new personalized pillow cases too!
For some reason Charlie wanted to eat lobster for his birthday. The Red Lobster restaurant seemed a bit out of the way from the house so we ended up just buying a couple of live lobsters from the supermarket. It was only about $6/lb - what a deal! But first, more presents from Uncle Doug and Auntie Myla!
Okay... time to get that lobster into the pot:
This was my first time boiling lobster. The poor thing! I am glad I didn't hear it "cry", especially having to put the lobster in head first into the pot of boiling water:
Happy 5th birthday to Charlie!!!
For our own record, Charlie is now 44"/112cm tall and 40lbs/18kg. Growing up fast!
