Trip to the Civic Orchestra

Any chance I get, I'm going to try my best to get the boys to the orchestra!  This time it was the Civic Orchestra and tickets were the right price! Basically a lot less than what a normal orchestra ticket would cost. Actually, parking alone was almost $40 for the 1.5 hours that night!

Plus, also just the stress driving into the city.  Graham has gotten into this hobby of plane spotting and taking photos of airplanes. I managed to catch this one right above us through the sun-roof!

And yes, seems that I'm sitting in the backseat these days.  Pha!

Ok, looking for food as we arrive. The Art Museum is near by as well. Haven't had a chance to go back lately:
After a $50 meal at Chick-Fil-A (sheesh!), we head into the Orchestra.  And it's free seating tonight!  We were told any seat except for the ones on stage. The guy was being funny. LOL!
We could have sat aaaaaalllll the way up there! But nah, we went with about the 6th or 7th row in from the very front, aisle/to the side.
I never did realize what was right above the stage. Cool!
Charlie is a bit cold, so he's clapping with his hands through his shirt. Silly boy, ha ha!
There were actually only 3 pieces of music. The first 2 were shorter, and actually the Quartet with strings were pretty cool during the 2nd piece. There was 1 lady with a violin whom I particular really liked. There was just something about the way she played! And then, intermission and then the final piece - which did go on for quite a bit!  Charlie ended up falling asleep on my shoulder. LOL!

Another good night!
We actually couldn't get back to the car the same way we came up to the street from. So there was some extra walking involved.  But thankfully all good :-)

There were some pretty cool lightning storms on the way home and we were able to catch some good lightning strikes on our phone!
Pretty amazing stuff!
We were probably more than halfway home, when Bobby finally said, "Your car!".  And yup, actually had my car parked at one of my work locations.  Sooooo, it was another 15 minutes to get to my car and then and extra 20 minutes to get home.  Too funny!!  Managed to catch a bit more of the storm on camera though:
No other performances planned so far.  Josh Groban is coming into town though this summer!  Bobby is not a fan, and tickets are over $100... so, maybe it's just me and one of the boys. As I am hitting the big 50 this year, my friend did mention it should be "Year of Cindy". So I'm going to make it all count. Ha! :-)

Hair donation #8

Yes, can't believe it's #8!  I keep telling Bobby how lucky he is that I haven't been into a salon for the last 18 years.  I should be getting an allowance for all that money that I've saved every month ;-P

This year, both Charlie and Graham had a part of my hair donation. Charlie was in charge of the snipping part. But first, 4 pony tails tied up. Feels like the locks are getting thinner and thinner each year. Getting old stinks!

I grew it out my hair longer than normal this time (minimum requirement is 8"), so hopefully the charity will be able to make a longer wig with it. My hair this time is probably 10-12" long.
Here's the video. It took Charlie almost 4.5 minutes to snip off the first lock.  Ha!
Let the buzzing commence!
Graham seemed a bit hesitant with those clippers. He just couldn't seem to get close to my scalp with the #3:
Ta da! Family we-fie :-)
My locks of hair will go to the Children with Hair Loss charity again this year:
I had to actually get my hands on the clippers again as there were parts of the buzz cut that was a tad uneven.  So far so good with showing up at work!  I was a bit worried perhaps - although, I did check with my boss and the Head Pro at work. This is the first time I'm having a buzzed head while in the work force. There were a handful of people that didn't really make any remarks when they saw me - which I find rather strange. Ha!  Maybe they were too shocked to say anything  :-D

At the end of the day, the donation is done in memory of my mom.  Still missing her lots. I wish the boys had a chance to meet/know her. XOX
